Hello, First of all, unfortunately Encore has an horrible customer service and won't provide support to the problem I've encountered when attempting to install the mentioned wireless adapter on Windows 7 64. Also, once a reboot is performed, all USB ports stop working, forcing the user to reboot in safe mode and then reboot once again in normal mode to get the system back to work. If you try connecting the adapter after your system is fully functional and installing the drivers, it will fail as if you were attempting to install an incompatible Vista driver. It's clear to me that the drivers provided by the hardware manufacturer are causing the problem, so, my only alternative at the moment was to switch back to wired network and hope Microsoft will develop a driver for my adapter. I accidentally uninstalled it mistake in trying to troubleshoot a problem at the router and then ran into this issue in reinstalling. I assumed the latest drivers were at the website and reinstalled them. Windows said there were no valid drivers, even though the install program reported no error. But, it was working fine until my router misadventure today. Inspecting the CD reveals that the driver on the CD is later than the version at the website! The user manual clearly says not to plug the device in until after the install. So, I uninstalled the website version, found my CD, unplugged the device, installed from CD, then plugged the device in, and was back in business on 64 bit Windows. I am sure the software could be more robust and the state of their website is bizarre, BUT it does work on 64 bit windows if you follow their instructions exactly. It looks like the version on CD, 1.
